About me
I'm Andrea, a Colombian biologist currently based in Norway. I’m analyzing the relationship of the prevalence of pathogenic microorganisms transmitted by ticks and seasonal variation in order to hypothesize possible outcomes under the influence of climate change. I started to work with ticks and tick-borne diseases in Colombia, including ticks from reptile, amphibians, cattle and poultry and continue working with systematics of the Amblyomma genus and their associated bacteria. I have a wide interest in evolution and ecology of ectoparasites and vector-borne pathogens.
Outside my research interest, my favorite animals are dogs, I like yoga, hiking and jogging. I really like Harry Potter and the Simpsons. I enjoy a lot seeing the differences and similarities of people’s cultures.
